Roberta Black

Barnwell – Roberta Black, 81, went to be with her Heavenly Father August, 13, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 3 pm at Trinity Baptist Church, Barnwell, SC, officiated by Reverend Rommie Martin and Reverend Harry Warren. Visitation will be Saturday August 15, from 5-8 pm at Dyches Funeral Home and crematory of Barnwell. Pall Bearers will be David Black, Shawn Brant, Andrew Black, Cody Black, R.C. Black, Caleb Campbell, Drew Thompson and Grayson Thompson.
Roberta was born March 10, 1934. She was the daughter of the late James Calhoun Mayer and Janie Gertrude Cooper.
She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Barnwell. She loved to quilt and craft. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great grandmother. She fostered and nourished the lives of so many children. She will be missed by many.
Survivors of Mrs. Black are four daughters, Trudy (Danny) Cheek, Barnwell, Mary (Greg) Brant, Olar, Patsy (David) Sawyer, Barnwell, Martha (Andy) Thompson, Barnwell. Four sons, David Jr. (Patricia) Black, Barnwell, Franklin (Camella) Black, Snellings, Jimmy Black, Sycamore, Reuben (Sheila) Black, Barnwell. Special Son-in-Law Gaylon Holder, Barnwell. Brother in law Emmet (Dot) Black, Barnwell. 23 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
She is Predeceased by her husband David Franklin Black, Sr. One Sister Dorothy Green. Two Brothers Robert Mayer and James Mayer. Two Grand Children, Amanda Black and Shane Brant and one Great Grandchild Aiden Baird.
