Roberta Darnell Gillam

Ehrhardt– Roberta Darnell Gillam, 64, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, April 2, 2017 at her home, surrounded by family. Funeral service will be held at Ghents Branch Baptist Church, Wednesday, April 5th at 2 pm with Rev. H. B. “ Sunny “Mooney and Rev. Bert Petty officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 4th from 6-8 at Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory, Barnwell, SC.
She was the daughter of B. T. and Clara Darnell of Denmark, SC. She was a homemaker and a member of Ghents Branch Baptist Church. She played an active role with the WMU, church choir, youth leader, played softball and served on other committees of the church. Her mission in life was to teach and care for her special gift from God, Allan. She had a love and passion for Gardening and making sure there were never any weeds in sight.
She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law and a friend to all. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she will be missed by many.
Roberta is survived by her husband of 44 years, Harry Gillam. One son, Allan Gillam of the home and one daughter Lisa (Quinton)McCaw of Aiken. Grandchildren, Sydney Glover, Brooklyn Glover, Colby McCaw and Blakeley McCaw. Sisters Clara Mae Darnell, Hilda and Brenda Darnell of Denmark.
Memorials in her honor may be made to Ghents Branch Baptist Church building fund and Georgia Regents ALS Clinic.
The family has entrusted Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory with the arrangements.
