Barnwell – Eugene Edward (Lil Gene) Still, 13 went into eternal rest on March 22, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Dyches Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Epperson officiating.
Lil Gene was a happy, fun, loving son who had a heart of gold. He was also a grandson, brother, nephew, great nephew, great grandson, cousin, uncle and friend. He never met a stranger. He was often called a social butterfly. He enjoyed playing on the phone, playing with his pets, especially his cat. He loved visiting Bee City to feed the monkeys and hold “Cuddles” the snake. He also enjoyed going to church. He will be greatly missed by many. Gene attended Mount Olivet Baptist Church with his family. He always wanted to hold Preacher Mark’s hand at the end of service to say The Lord’s Prayer.
Survivors include his mother, Sharon C. Still, his nana, Brenda Croft, grandmother, Iris Z. Still and grandfather, Jerry Zorn, Sr. all of Barnwell and grandmother, Patricia Parsons of Kansas. Three brothers, Joshua B. Still, Matthew R. Still and Andrew E. Still all of Barnwell. One sister, Blakelee Elizabeth Chesser of Olar. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by his father Clarence E. (Eddie) Still, his pop, Horace E. (Gene) Croft Jr., his great grandparents, Horace and Amelia Croft and grandfather, Cronnie Reden.
