Barnwell – Susan Padgett Kight, 58, passed away on January, 2, 2024 at Aiken Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Dyches Funeral Home Chapel, Barnwell, SC on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Jessica Kight. The family will receive family and friends after the Celeration of Life.
Susan was born in Hampton, SC. She is the daughter of Vince and Bobbie Padgett. She was a graduate of Barnwell High School, Class of 1983. Susan graduated from USC with a nursing degree. She worked at Chem Nuclear for 16 years and was currently employed at the Dorn Veteran Hospital of Columbia, SC. She adored her daughter and loved to watch her play softball and volleyball. She loved her German Shepard “Kainen”. She was a loving wife, mother and daughter and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Kenneth Kight; one daughter, Kirsten Kight of Barnwell; one son, Blake Steverson of Charleston. Her father, Vince Padgett of Barnwell and her mother Bobbie Padgett of Barnwell.
She is predeceased by her grandparents; Harry and Harriett Mole and Lewis and Thelma Padgett.
