Barnwell – Ann Hinely Fairey- 64, entered into eternal peace and joy Friday, January 22, 2016. Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, January 25, 2016 at 3:30pm at the Barnwell First Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Richardson and Rev. Mark Epperson officiating. Visitation to be held at 2:30pm in the Worship Center before the Celebration of Life.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida, to Marianne Hinely and the late Lewis Joshua Hinely, Sr., Ann’s family moved to Augusta, Georgia, in 1951, where she grew up, attended First Baptist Church, and graduated from the Academy of Richmond County 1969. Ann attended the University of Georgia, where she met and married Kelley Fairey. They moved to Kelley’s hometown of Denmark, South Carolina, in 1974. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from the South Carolina State University and dedicated 30 years of service to teaching and loving her special needs students. She was also a long-time active member of First Baptist Church of Barnwell and enjoyed many service activities, including Meals on Wheels and church-wide mission trips, and she will be missed by many.
She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Kay Bell (Eric) and Kelley Marie Deitemeyer (Luke) both of Barnwell, five grandchildren, Caleb, Carson, Caitlin Bell and David and Wyatt Deitemeyer, as well as one brother, Lewis J. Hinely, Jr. (Patsy) of Clarksville, GA, and two sisters, Emily Sewell of Danielsville, GA, and Martha Adams (Mark) of Appling, GA, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, Ann would appreciate donations to Special Olympics, 88.3 WAFJ Radio Station or the Barnwell First Baptist Church Elevator Fund.
The family has entrusted Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory with the arrangements.
