Barnwell – Roy Sweeney, 90, passed away June 30, 2019. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 5th 2019 at 11 am at Dyches Funeral Home Chapel, Barnwell, SC with the Rev. Timmy Gunnells officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at 3 pm with Military Honors at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC.
He was the son of the late Max and Hildred Ochstein. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1929. He served in the US Navy. He loved fishing and music. He was a loving father, grandfather and will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, June Sweeney. One son Robert (Emily) Sweeney of Mt. Pleasant and one daughter Susan Sweeney of Barnwell. Four grandchildren, Natalie Sweeney, Blake Sweeney, Mike Sweeney and Michael Edwards. Great grandchildren, Hudson and Ryder.
