Barnwell – Benjamin Deas Jr., 66 of Barnwell S.C. passed away peacefully, September 2, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at 1 P.M at Dyches Funeral Home Chapel in Barnwell, SC. with special message from Apostle Calvin D. Wright. Visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm prior to service in the chapel.
He was the son of the late Benjamin Deas, Sr. and Thelma Flood Deas. He was employed at AGY of Aiken prior to his retirement.
Benjamin loved reading and helping his grandchildren with school work. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed by many.
Benjamin is survived by his wife, Vivian Lee Thurmond, Three daughters, Tisha Patterson of Barnwell, Delashay Patterson of Barnwell and Lequan Buxton (Sam) of Barnwell. Two sons, Corlander Patterson of Barnwell and Josiah Meadows of Barnwell. Two Grandchildren, Morgan Buxton ad Cameron Buxton. Sister-in-laws, Barbara(Sammie) Patterson of Barnwell, Darlene (Richard)Williams of Barnwell and Maggie (Eugene) Scurlock of Blackville. Brother-in-law, Joseph Williams of Barnwell. Special nieces, Patrina Flood of Pittsboro, NC and Martrice Scurlock of Barnwell. Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Daughter Iesha Deas, one Brother, William Flood and Mother-in-law, Martha Williams.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family has entrusted Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory with the arrangements.
