Herman Earl Rumph

FullSizeRender (2)Herman Earl Rumph, 89, of Williston S.C. passed away peacefully, April 8, 2016. Services will be held Monday, April 11th, 2016 at 3 P.M. at Dyches Funeral Home Chapel in Barnwell, SC. with Rev. Jamie Wootten officiating. Burial following at Williston Cemetery with military rights. Visitation will be held an hour and a half prior to service in the chapel.

 

He was the son of the late David Belvin and Bessie Lee Canaday Rumph. He was a member of Winfield Heights Baptist Church. After serving in the United States Army in the Korean War, he was employed at Savannah River Plant for thirty-one years.

 

Herman was the owner and operator of H&M Television Service for many years in Williston. He was an avid fishermen and clock maker.  His home away from home was at Santee’s Lake Marion where he enjoyed many years of fishing and made many friends.

 

Herman is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Ruby Avant Rumph, son Mike (Sandy) Rumph of Greenville S.C., two daughters, Beverly (Danny) Mundy of Gaston S.C. and Joy (Bryan) Lindell of Aiken S.C.; grandchildren Jennifer (Matt) Mole, Linda Rumph, Dylan Rumph, Derek (Taylor) Dyches, and Bryana Dyches; and one great- granddaughter Ava Mole.

 

He was preceded in death by his two brothers John T. Rumph and David A. Rumph both of Grover, S.C.

 

Pall bearers Lonnie Dyches, BoBo Avant, Dean Anderson, David Rumph Jr., Glenn Jeffcoat, Bobby Yon, David Are and Buck Daniels

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Winfield Heights Baptist Church or The Wounded Warrior project.

 

The family has entrusted Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory with the arrangements.
