Barnwell – John Lamar Tankersley, 68, passed away March 20, 2021. A memorial service will be held at a later date due to the pandemic.
John was born in Augusta, Georgia to the late Judson Lamar Tankersley and Minnie Louise Chambers. He was a Master Plumber in the CSRA for over 50 years. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog and music fan. He was a loving dad, brother, friend, partner and papa and will be missed by many.
Survivors include his partner of many years, Karen Harkins; two daughters, Leslie (Brian) Bolduc of Hanahan, SC and Ava-Rose Harkins of Augusta, GA; one son, David (Mallory) Harkins of Augusta, GA.; one sister, Brenda (Alton) Smith of Douglas, GA; one grandchild, Walker Harkins; countless nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog “Freddie”.
The family has entrusted Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory with the arrangements.
